- You may be looking for the Doctor himself.
The Eleventh Doctor was a special episode of Doctor Who Confidential broadcast to announce the casting of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Like One Year On, this special does not feature any particular Doctor Who episode. Instead, it features clips and discussions regarding every past Doctor, which lead up to the announcement about the Eleventh.
The announcement of Matt Smith's successor would similarily appear on TV, this time in the form of a live event, four years later on 4 August 2013, where Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor aired on BBC One, announcing the casting of Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.
