The Third Dalek War was a war fought between the empires of Earth and the Daleks, some unknown time after the Human-Draconian War and the Second Dalek War. Along with those other conflicts, it exhausted Earth enough to put an end to their expansionist phase. Planets such as Mechanus were left uncolonised. (PROSE: The Chase)
Behind the Scenes
- The only in-universe mention of the Third Dalek War is in John Peel's 1989 novelisation of The Chase. Future stories, however, would concern themselves with the Second Dalek War, such as Love and War, Return of the Living Dad, Deceit, Abslom Daak... Dalek Killer and Prisoner of the Daleks, although the mention of the Third does pre-date the naming of the Second.
