The Judoon rockets were spacecraft used by the Judoon to travel and capture alien criminals.

The rockets had four landing prongs and four boosters. They could land and take-off vertically. They were capable of firing an energy blast that could blow up an Earth-like planet. (WC: Captain Jack's Monster Files) They were powered by ionic pulse fusion engines, allowing them to cross the Sol system in forty-five minutes. When a rocket landed, a long exit ramp would lower out from its base, allowing large numbers of Judoon soldiers to file out in an orderly formation when securing an area. (TV: Prisoner of the Judoon)

History

In 102 A.D., a Judoon rocket hovered over Stonehenge before being warned off by the Eleventh Doctor. Three Judoon from the rocket teleported into the Pandorica chamber along with the rest of the Alliance to imprison the Doctor. (TV: The Pandorica Opens)

In 2008, the Judoon used an H2O scoop to transport Royal Hope Hospital, where they could hunt down a wanted alien criminal, a Plasmavore known as Florence Finnegan, without interference from Earth. Shortly after lifting the hospital, several of their rockets touched down on the Moon's surface and a large force of Judoon marched out to pursue Florence. Florence had plotted to kill every living creature on the Moon at the time of the Judoon's landing and escape in one of the rockets. This plan was foiled by the Tenth Doctor, with the help of Martha Jones. (TV: Smith and Jones)

Judoon ships were seen among the fleets above Trenzalore that had travelled to the planet in response to the First Question. They, along with many other species, were destroyed or retreated from the planet when the Daleks broke the force field surrounding and the Siege of Trenzalore became a war. (TV: The Time of the Doctor)

Behind the scenes

  • A Judoon rocket appears in the online game Doctor In A Dash as one of three enemy ships, along with a Dalek flying saucer and a Slitheen craft, that race along with the Doctor's TARDIS (the player) to find a Space-Time Manipulator. Like the other enemy ships, the Judoon rocket can fire energy weapons to immobilise the other ships temporarily. Assuming the player completes the game, the Tenth Doctor claims the Space-Time Manipulator and destroys it to prevent it falling into the wrong hands.
  • According to The Visual Dictionary, a book that contains non-narrative based information this wiki does not consider a valid source, Judoon ships were originally designed as military vessels and were shaped to strike fear in the hearts of their enemies.
