Summary

The Doctor and Izzy materialise in a small satellite orbiting Crivello's sun, and witnessed an attack on it by Daleks. While attempting to stop the Daleks' plans, it is revealed that another of the Doctor's deadliest enemies, the megacorp known as the Threshold, was hired to destroy the Daleks, and already had a plan in motion. This plan fails, and Izzy escapes with the Threshold's payment and a portal-generating Threshold ring. She warps to the Doctor's location, who has been informed of the Threshold's mission, and knows who hired them: After all, the box containing their payment was embossed with the Seal of Rassilon. The Doctor manages to defeat both the Daleks and the Threshold by making Crivello's sun go nova. However, as the Doctor and Izzy escape in the TARDIS, a Threshold agent appears to remind the Doctor the Threshold is not down yet.

  • Icarus Falling is a satelloid, built around Crivello's Cauldron, it has no defences.
  • Argonauts protect and defend the inside of Icarus Falling.
  • Icarus Falling's bulkheads are constructed of; two metres of Iron, steel and reinforced kevlar, all of which the Daleks are able to get through in 28 minutes.
  • The Threshold are working to get a hold of a box of secrets, the box has the Seal of Rassilon on it.
  • The wormhole created by the Daleks isn't (the Doctor claims) stable until 200 rels have passed.
  • The cauldron collapses and goes nova, plugging the wormhole.
  • The Doctor tells Izzy he "knows what you mean" when she says being chased around Icarus Falling by the Dalek's Contagium is "like being an extra in an Aliens film". Paul McGann was in Aliens 3.

Daleks

  • The Daleks use the Contagium to infiltrate Icarus Falling.
  • The Dalek Hive is a large space cruiser, 3 billion tonnes of solid dalekanium gird its hull, its propulsion units generate a force equivalent of 600 erupting volcanoes.
  • The Daleks use Special Weapons Daleks against the alternate universe Daleks.
  • One of the species of "other Daleks" is similar to those mentioned in the Leakey Bible for the proposed eighth Doctor TV series. Insectoidal in an armoured shell that opens so the insect can attack.

Notes

  • The other universe's Daleks are based on Dalek designs for an aborted early-90s American Doctor Who series. [1]
  • In part 4 the countdown begins in rels.
