The Loch Ness Monster, also known as Nessie, is a mysterious animal claimed to inhabit Loch Ness, a large lake in northern Scotland. Nessie is usually categorized as a type of lake monster. Along with such creature as the yeti, Nessie is one of the best-known mysteries of cryptozoology. In general, Nessie's existence is not truly believed by the public, much like the existence of aliens.
There are two different creatures who may be behind the stories. The first is the Skarasen, which was brought to Earth by the Zygons hundreds of years ago. (DW: Terror of the Zygons) The other is Borad, who was brought to Earth by the Timelash. (DW: Timelash)
