Tom Chaucer was the son of the author Geoffrey Chaucer.
He served as King Henry IV of England's butler. However, he was a supporter of the deposed Richard II. Like his father, he was involved in the failed plot to assassinate Henry and restore Richard to the throne in 1400. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
