Very shortly after, he tried to reactivate them again, after crying out ''"It's my duty!"'' Hardaker then shot him without a third warning. Before doing so, he did lament that he had been promised a crew of old men who had had their time, not boys. Although Hardaker was killed when the ship was struck, Frame survived the gunshot wound, continuing to keep the ship engines up and running, much to Capricorn's astonishment.
