Alexandre Dumas

Alexandre Dumas was, according to the Fifth Doctor, a "tiresome man" who "completely ignored the notes I gave him". Peri, who was just getting oriented to 1626 France tried to assert that Cardinal Richelieu was a villain, but the Doctor vigorously disputed the point, saying that "Dumas ha[d] a lot to answer for".
