Hey Tangerineduel! I wanted to stop by and invite you to be a part of Thread:180396, where we're currently discussing if the DWU prefix does or does not well-represent our invalid policy. We've got some good input, but barely anything from admins. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 19:37, October 8, 2015 (UTC)

The discussion of Osgoodology on Thread:183821 has been extensive, but it more or less died out without yielding fruit. It stayed dead for more than than a month and was only revived recently by a new user. I'm afraid it will die out again if something is not done about it. Shambala108 has suggested calling for your and CzechOut's help in narrowing the discussion down to acceptable variants: according to her, some of the things defended in the thread might simply be against Wiki's policy and, hence, should be removed from the discussion. If you could help us identify those bad suggestions and find a way to finally come to a solution, everyone would be the winner. Standard intros

I don't really know what you're talking about, as I've been burning through a lot of edits lately. Got any examples of your area of concern?

The Master as The Doctor's brother

I didn't really know where to come with this, so I came to you. I found this [video on YouTube], Which is of Paul McGann's audition as The Doctor, and I know it is just an audition, so it may not be fully canonical, but it seems to say that The Master is The Doctor's brother and I can't see this information anywhere else, and I'm not sure if it's true, so pretty much, all I'm asking you is is it? Should it be included in the wiki or ignored as a false storyline for Paul's audition only? MrSiriusBlack 08:57, August 30, 2013 (UTC)

Rabbits!

Hey, is "Rabbits!" a thing you actually hear round your way, or was that just a Janet Fielding thing?

Chat

Any chance you could join me in chat for a sec?

I seem to have missed you, but I'm still in chat, in case you're still around.

Ugh, sorry about that, I got interrupted. Anyway, if you could pop back on chat for a sec, it'd be helpful.

Christmas cheer

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Quick Noob Q

Hi there

new to this particular wiki but follow a few already and keen to contribute here :) I have a question that I couldn't see answered on the forums, and I figured from what I just read that you're one of the top guys for this?

I'm curious....if a line or dialogue from the TV series is interpreted in several different ways by the viewer thus leading to arguments over the plot of an episode etc.... how do we rectify and reach concordance on it?! Do we go though the page talk before updating the wiki etc?

Please explain

Please explain to me how ElevenInShadowsTDODT.jpg at Eleventh Doctor is a good photo? It is badly lit and only half of Eleven's face is visible. Please explain. 90.204.74.187talk to me 14:53, March 9, 2014 (UTC)

'an admin with a teaspoon and an open mind'

Hi...I was just interested to know, how come the admins and bureaucrats of this wiki have "an admin with a teaspoon and an open mind" or "inter minorian functionary" next to their names? I mean, how did you (or indeed another admin) do that? Regards, 176.248.102.23talk to me 19:01, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

Tenth birthday of the wiki

Hello. It has occurred to me that next month is the tenth anniversary of the first creation of this wiki by Freethinker1of1. Is there going to be a birthday celebration of some description? President Borusa 17:25, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Monoids

Hi! I've got a question for you. All four Monoids that appeared in The Ark have this on their articles, behind the scenes:

Of the Monoid actors (Edmund Coulter, Frank George, Ralph Carrigan, John Caesar), it is never made clear who played which Monoid.

However, the BBC site for classic DW includes PDFs of original paperwork for the show, and it shows which actor plays which Monoid. Does this count as a valid source for cast credits? The link is at [1] if you want to take a look. Thanks! Shambala108 03:48, February 2, 2015 (UTC)

Inter-Wiki Project

Hello, I was told by Shambala101 to bring this message to you, I will just copy the message and leave it here.:

I am hoping to get editors from wikis to work together to assist each other. I have always felt we should help one another when possible, and that working on other wikis can teach us how to better our own community's. I am trying to set up a project where wiki's assist each other and hopefully everybody involved will be better off (editors and guest alike)

This wiki, being one of a well known topic, is one of those wikis that can do a great deal of help. I am hoping this community can assist with one of our projects.

These Questions on wikianswers are all related to Doctor Who, The Admins on this wiki (me being one of them) have agreed that should a wiki agree to help, any questions they answer or repair can contain a link to their main wiki. This will help them get questioned answered, and it helps you because they not only help the fans, but also link to you.

The Project is young, but I am hoping that other wikis, like this one, will join in and help better all wikis. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks, and happy editing.-Cheatcodechamp 08:16, July 10, 2015 (UTC)

Its not just sites like Wikianswers who would benefit from wikis being more involved with each other. Aliens Species wiki would also get help. When wikis that specialize get involved, they can make sure that any fans who show up get the information they need or want. Even if there are other sites to get the information, and even if they can go to a specialized wiki, if they end up on wiki the information should be there. What I want is wikis to help each other get better and do what we can to make sure that the information people want is there. We dont need central to work together or improve.
You and your community are not obligated to help, nobody is. Seeing as we edit for free says we are not obligated to do anything. I am simply stating I am trying to help get wikis involved in helping each other and I felt this wiki could get involved. If you and your community do not want to get involved with helping Wikiansers, or any other wiki that has Doctor Who content, that is fine and nobody is going to hold it against you. I am telling what is going on, and in the end its up to the community's if they want to help or not.
I thank you for getting back to me, and I hope that you and your community are doing well. Thank you, and happy editing.-Cheatcodechamp 16:48, July 12, 2015 (UTC)
