"Lucern" was a Varaxyl who impersonated the son of Claude Portillon. He was the twin brother of Finicia. He and his sister were searching for lifeforms that could channel Odic energy in Earth's solar system when they crash-landed on Vetter's Tor. He travelled back to the 17th century with the Eighth Doctor and Mary Shelley to find the witch that was trapped in a well, telling them that his father was Aleister Portillon. He observed the operating procedure of the TARDIS, and piloted it to the edge of the vortex. (AUDIO: The Witch From the Well)
