"Lucern" was a Varaxil who impersonated the son of Claude Portillon.
He was the brother of Finicia. He was always meticulous about everything he did.
As all Varaxils, he and his sister were hunting for individuals who could channel Odic energy. They crash-landed on Vetter's Tor around the [1650s]]. By that time, using the WitchStar they had already imprisoned many such individuals, including a flux imp and an Erisi. Their plan to bring them back to Varax Beta could not, therefore, be realised.
