Martha Tyler was an old woman who lived in the 1970's. She was a practicing white witch and could read people's fortunes. This might have meant that she had psychic powers. She was the cook at the Fetch Priory but after a body was found she could not work there as the owner Dr. Fendalman. She helped her grandson, Leela and the Doctor to defeat the Fendahl.
