Robinson was one of the people selected by Sir Charles Grover to colonise New Earth. He had resigned from his job, and had even sold his house.

Sarah Jane Smith convinced them that they were not aboard a spacecraft bound for New Earth. (TV: Invasion of the Dinosaurs)
