The Cruel Sea was a Doctor Who Magazine comic story featuring the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler.

Summary

It's the 22nd century. Mars has been cleaned up, dusted off, and turned into a leisure planet. The rich sail the artificial seas and drink cocktails. But...the sea is hungry... The Doctor has once again landed himself and his companion in the middle of an intergalactic dispute... and a wedding with very disturbed guests.

Notes

  • Part 2 has a truncated adaptation of the end of the television story Rose, where Rose stays behind when the Doctor does not immediately return to her in a dream world. The presence of Mickey Smith in this adaptation is implied, but his facial features are not directly seen in the story.

Continuity

  • When looking at himself in the red sea, the Doctor shouts, "Fantastic". (TV: Rose, Dalek)
