Joanna (The Crusade)

Lady Joanna was the sister of Richard the Lionheart and King John. While she was in Palestine with Richard in 1190, she took Vicki Pallister under her protection. Richard tried to arrange a marriage between Joanna and Saladin's brother Saphadin to broker a peace between the English and Saladin's people, the Saracens. Joanna herself, however, refused to do so, telling Richard that the Pope would never permit her marriage to "that infidel". (TV: The Crusade)

In March 1215, Kamelion impersonated her younger brother King John. (TV: The King's Demons)

Behind the scenes

  • Historically, the real Joanna had the full title of Joan of England, Queen of Sicily.
