A hybrid carnivorous hypomorph was a creature whose DNA could absorb and use surrounding proteins, minerals and vitamins from other lifeforms to regenerate its form. Once a new form has been grown the creature had a ravenous appetite for flesh.
When one hypomorph drew on the ingredients inside an ice cream shipment aboard the SS Greensleeves, it took the form of a giant blob of vanilla ice cream that needed warmth to move. The Eleventh Doctor lured it into space, where the temperature froze it into a solid scoop of ice cream. (COMIC: I Scream)
