Lollardy was a Christian religious movement. Archbishop Thomas Arundel believed that, by 1400, England was "[sliding] into a mire of heathen Lollardy". Barbara Wright had some empathy with their cause, saying they wanted a Church for the people, not just the Latin-speaking clergy.
Thomas Arundel, Archbishop of Canterbury, accused the First Doctor, Barbara, Ian and Vicki of being Lollards. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
