Anton Diffring (born 20 October 1916[source needed] in Koblenz, Germany; died 19 May 1989[source needed] in France) played De Flores in the Doctor Who television story Silver Nemesis.
He was best known in the English-speaking world for his portrayal of Nazi officers, in films such as Where Eagles Dare (1968) and The Heroes of Telemark (1965).
