The British Nuclear Defence Control Centre was surrounded by marshland.
After they had stolen the Multi-Mobile, three foreign agents intended to destroy the centre. By the time they had reached it, the sugar the Third Doctor had put in the fuel supply kicked in and the Multi-Mobile sunk into the marshland. The agents were then detained by UNIT.
