Val Ross was the widow of Steve Ross. She was born in England and moved to the United States of America after university, getting a job as a publicist at Major Comics where she met Steve. She co-wrote a number of his early comics and continued to after he left Major Comics, including Universal Passions. They had a daughter named Andromeda.
After Steve died in 1993, Val continued his comics and took over as leader of the Church of the Outsiders with Frank Layton. Her comics were all related to the Outsiders' beliefs and one detailed how to breed with an alien race.
