Barking

Barking was a town in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, England. [source needed]

The location of the borough of Barking on Mr Smith's map. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

Barking shared its north-western border with Redbridge and its western border with Newham. It was located beside the River Thames, across which was Bexley. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

When the TARDIS had healed in 1973, the Master utilised the efforts of Katya Dabrowski to bring the Collins family to an apartment in central London, while creating a diversion for the Twelfth Doctor in Barking with glass mosquito creatures. (COMIC: Doorway to Hell)

Barking appeared on Mr Smith's map of London. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

Behind the scenes

Barking can be used as a shortened name of the borough, Barking and Dagenham, and as the name of the town of Barking which is located within that borough. Revenge of the Slitheen makes reference to the borough, rather than the town, but due to being at the edge of Mr Smith's map, "and Dagenham" is cut off.
