Simon Jones (born 27 July 1950[1]) played the Master of Karn in the stage play Doctor Who and the Daleks in Seven Keys to Doomsday, as well as a Dalek in the second act and, for one night only, the Doctor's companion Jimmy. He also voiced Talbot in The Haunting of Malkin Place.

He is best known for playing Arthur Dent in both the 1978 radio series and the 1981 TV serial of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, written by Douglas Adams. He also appeared as Sir Walter Raleigh in the Blackadder II episode “Potato”, which co-starred Tom Baker.
