The Aral Sea was a body of water located in Central Asia, and at least partially overlapped with Uzbekistan. By 2008, the sea had almost completely dried up. This was exhibited by the town Safshika which was originally an island in the sea, but by 2008 was connected to mainland Asia. (AUDIO: Brave New Town)
