Safshika

Safshika was a town in Uzbekistan, which was located near the Aral Sea. It was known in English as New Town.
Before the Aral Sea dried up there was a ferry connecting Safshika to Thorington.
In the 20th century, an Nestene energy unit was stored in the city.
On 24 October 2008, the town was visited by the Eighth Doctor and Lucie Miller. The Nestene energy unit awoke during this time, and summoned the nearby Autons from Thorington. This was stopped when it was buried under a cliff after it was blown up. (AUDIO: Brave New Town)
