:Strictly speaking (as I understand it--note I am not a member of either), BAME is specific to the British experience of living as a person of colour / non-white person, whereas POC is North American in origin (though seemingly gaining traction over the years in the UK as well, at least online). I don't think the British-American divide here is analogous to other cases where [[T:BRENG]] favours British usage when it comes to ''items'', as both terms come out of ''social relations'' (not merely different terms for one material thing), which themselves differ between those regions. | |||

BAME
The BAME acronym was used in the recent Lucy Wilson short story 8.46, though without an explanation of what it stands for (Black Asian Minority Ethnic).
