Lapland was a province in northern Scandinavia. (PROSE: Project: Valhalla)
History
In the 21st century, there were 100,000 Sami living in Lapland, with the majority residing in Samiid Ruovttuguovlo, which was made up of three most northern municipalities of Utsjoki, Inari and Enontekió. The largest settlement was the village of Utsjoki, with a population of 600.
Nimrod led Project: Valhalla, an early 21st century attempt to scavenge alien technology from a crashed alien spaceship in Lapland. The mission became a disaster and the area had to be sterilised when the ship turned out to be a prison for a world-killing, blood-formed entity known as Nyathoggoth. Nimrod was able to blow up the ship and Nyathoggoth before it could destroy the Earth. (PROSE: Project: Valhalla)
Santa Claus was in Lapland on Christmas Eve when his sleigh lost its magical flying power. He called the Thirteenth Doctor, who let him borrow her TARDIS to complete his annual job. (WC: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas)
