Colonel Oliver Crackenthorpe's wife was a wild woman who caused a scandal, leading to his friends to convince him to have her committed to an asylum in 1861. Whilst there, she went mad. Once news of this spread, Queen Victoria had him sent to the sea fortress.
Colonel Crackenthorpe dressed up a room at the fortress to look like her sitting room and the imps pretended to be her, although they did not do it well enough for him. Once the Queen and Maharaja Duleep Singh set him free, he decided that he would return to his wife. (AUDIO: Fortitude)
