Queen Victoria owned a fortress in the English Channel, at which Colonel Oliver Crackenthorpe was stationed. It was built in the 19th century and was expected to be home to two-hundred men and two-hundred cannons, each of the small bedrooms being used by twelve sailors each. It was officially built to defend the country from Boney but was actually built to keep watch over a creature. (AUDIO: Fortitude)
