The Give-a-Show Projector was a device used by Iris Wildthyme to orchestrate a bootstrap paradox, so she, Panda, and a young verger could circumvent a potentially dangerous timeline. (PROSEIris Wildthyme and the Unholy Ghost)

Behind the scenes
