:: Another thing to note, is that ''The Runaway HiFi'' doesn't mesh well with the origin(s?) of Panda's character. (Although it's not unlike Magrs to write multiple backstories, each as valid and contradictory as the next.) HiFi?

Was it my imagination, or was there a suggestion at some point that Panda was, somehow, also HiFi? —Josiah Rowe 06:42, December 29, 2016 (UTC)

Hi Josiah, this is a talk page it is reserved for comments on the editing of the article not a discussion of Panda, please could you do that on the forum. Adric♥NyssaTalk? 17:44, December 30, 2016 (UTC)
I think he means was the suggestion on the article rather than a story. Best wishes. DENCH-and-PALMER 17:46, December 30, 2016 (UTC)
I mean, hypothetically, if there were indeed suggestions in valid source that HiFi and Panda were one and the same, this would be relevant to the Wiki, as a note should be made of it on Panda — and indeed we might want to merge the HiFi and Panda pages if the evidence is strong enough.
Unfortunately (?) it is not. Magrs did indeed write a short story positing that HiFi becomes Panda after running away from the Doctor's TARDIS, called The Runaway HiFi, but it's not actually commercially licensed to use HiFi, the Doctor or its setting of Gallifrey. It's just a case of an otherwise-DWU author also writing out-and-out fanfic in his spare time.
So "HiFi = Panda" might arguably be "canon" by authorial intent — insofar as that means anything for an Iris Wildthyme character — but it's not valid. --Scrooge MacDuck 01:12, September 13, 2020 (UTC)
