When Gwen Cooper asked "Who ya gonna call?", (PROSE: The House That Jack Built) a popular line from Ghostbusters, (TV: Army of Ghosts) while preparing to visit a haunted house in Penylan, Jack Harkness replied "Torchwood!", before yelling "To the Mystery Machine!". Gwen sighed "Don't try and quote popular culture. You always get it wrong". (PROSE: The House That Jack Built)
Behind the scenes
- Although not mentioned in the DWU, the Mystery Machine is a vehicle from Scooby-Doo.
- In The Age of Steel, Pete Tyler compared the Preachers to "Scooby-Doo and the gang", commenting "They've even got the van".
