Maxwell Stockbridge was a pseudonym used by a number of writers employed by Marvel UK in the early 1980s, on various titles including Doctor Who Magazine. Writers who used the name included Alan McKenzie, Paul Neary, Steve Parkhouse and Alan Moore. The name, which first seems to have appeared in 1981, was retired by 1984 but inspired the name of the village of Stockbridge and its most prominent resident, U.F.O spotter Maxwell Edison, both recurring elements in the DWM comic strip.
