Currently, this template links to <nowiki>[[Talk:Page name]]</nowiki> when placed on a page. This is a problem when renaming categories, as it does not link to <nowiki>[[Category talk:Page name]]</nowiki>. This can lead to accidentally created talk pages at the wrong location, such as at [[Talk:Supremacy of the Cybermen]] (which should be at [[Category talk:Supremacy of the Cybermen]]). As such, I propose that either a new template be made for categories which links more appropriately, or the current template be amended to recognise the namespace it has been placed within (if that's possible). : This is very easy to fix within this template. Please could an admin replace the template's wikitext with the following:
<pre><includeonly><div id="article-type" class="type-rename"><div id="type-title" style="font-size:150%">This topic might have a better name.</div><p style="font-size:100%;line-height:110%">{{{1|But the editor who placed this tag here didn't say why.}}}</p><p style="font-size:80%;line-height:90%">Talk about it [[{{TALKPAGENAME}}|here]].</p></div></includeonly><includeonly>{{cat|Articles that need renaming}}</includeonly><noinclude>{{documentation}}[[Category:Maintenance templates]][[Category:Templates that add a tracking category]]</noinclude>
</pre>
This will work for all namespaces. [[User:Bongolium500|Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500)]] [[User talk:Bongolium500|<span title="Talk to me">☎</span>]] 17:22, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Category rename

Currently, this template links to [[Talk:Page name]] when placed on a page. This is a problem when renaming categories, as it does not link to [[Category talk:Page name]]. This can lead to accidentally created talk pages at the wrong location, such as at Talk:Supremacy of the Cybermen (which should be at Category talk:Supremacy of the Cybermen). As such, I propose that either a new template be made for categories which links more appropriately, or the current template be amended to recognise the namespace it has been placed within (if that's possible). This is very easy to fix within this template. Please could an admin replace the template's wikitext with the following:
<includeonly><div id="article-type" class="type-rename"><div id="type-title" style="font-size:150%">This topic might have a better name.</div><p style="font-size:100%;line-height:110%">{{{1|But the editor who placed this tag here didn't say why.}}}</p><p style="font-size:80%;line-height:90%">Talk about it [[{{TALKPAGENAME}}|here]].</p></div></includeonly><includeonly>{{cat|Articles that need renaming}}</includeonly><noinclude>{{documentation}}[[Category:Maintenance templates]][[Category:Templates that add a tracking category]]</noinclude>

This will work for all namespaces. Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500) 17:22, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
