David Bradley (born 17 April 1942[1] in Yorkshire, England) has several credits in and related to the DWU. Most notably, he portrayed William Hartnell, who played the First Doctor and originated the part of the Doctor, in the docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time. He would later portray the First Doctor himself in a surprise appearance in the Doctor Who episode The Doctor Falls, and later Twice Upon a Time. He also reprised the role in Big Finish Productions' The First Doctor Adventures and in the Doctor Who: Lockdown! webcast Doctors Assemble!.

He was originally intended to play Geb, Sutekh's father, in The True History of Faction Paradox. The part ultimately went to Edward de Souza instead. (REF: Downtime – The Lost Years of Doctor Who)

In Resurrection of the Author, it was mentioned in a brief note at the end of the story that David Bradley played Auteur in the 200th Anniversary Special of a BBC series, F[REDACTED] P[REDACTED]. It was also hinted that he had been resurrected to play the role.
