Dalek command ships were leading spacecraft used by the Daleks and commanded by a Command Dalek. A variant was the Dalek base ship. Saucer-shaped command ships were known as Dalek command saucers, distinguished from command ships of other shapes.

History

In the 26th century, a Councillor-class spaceship transported a Dalek Supreme of the Supreme Council to Spiridon. The spaceship was stolen by a group of Thals who used it to escape Spiridon, stranding the Supreme Dalek who was forced to send for a rescue craft. (TV: Planet of the Daleks) This ship was designated as a Command Ship, alternatively a command spacecraft. As recorded in the Dalek Combat Training Manual, this imposing craft was only in service for a short period, and generally only used for urgent missions. (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual)

A saucer-shaped Dalek base ship was established on the planet Mazam. It was commanded by a Command Dalek with a complement of 1,000 Daleks and Omega-Units. (COMIC: Abslom Daak... Dalek Killer)

A trio of Dalek ships, including a command ship, pursued Taiyin's space yacht to Draconia only to be destroyed by Abslom Daak before he touched down on the planet. Later, a base ship sent a group of Dalek Space-Commando Units against the Kill-Wagon, only to be destroyed by its nuclear weapons. (COMIC: Star Tigers)

A black Dalek Fleet Commander led the attack on Helatrine aboard a Command Saucer. (PROSE: Infection of the Daleks)

During the Dalek invasion of Mutter's Spiral, the Imperial Command Ship was the flagship of the Dalek fleet and travelled to Lopra Minor for Project Infinity. (AUDIO: Project Infinity)

A lone Dalek command ship was signalled by Professor Martez to help him birth his "Mutant Daleks" engineered from humans. In response, the Daleks diverted an asteroid to strike Red Rocket Rising in a failed attempt to destroy Professor Martez' experiments, which were seen as "inferior". This ship landed on the planet. The Daleks planned to use the command ship to impact the Mutant Dalek base and evacuated. Its neutronic power source would ensure total destruction and the Daleks would kill the remaining humans on Red Rocket Rising. Tom Cardwell was able to shut down the power source with his fission batteries. The command ship then crash-landed off course from the base. (AUDIO: Blood of the Daleks)

In the first year of the Last Great Time War, Davros' command ship was lost when it flew into the jaws of the Nightmare Child. It had been believed by all at the time that Davros was killed in this incident. However, Dalek Caan, a survivor of the Time War, used a temporal shift to break the time-lock and save Davros from the doomed vessel. (TV: The Stolen Earth)

By one account of Rusty's history, he had been rescued by a Dalek command ship, which he later destroyed. (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe)
