Unaware that it could only be seen by her — its chosen victim — she mistook it for a man dressed up as a mummy and attempted to point it out to the others, panicking as it closed in. Maisie took it for illness and asked her if she needed one of her pills. Mrs Pitt was unable to find aid and was killed, with her death being diagnosed as a heart attack.
