Kreel was the name of a Mondasian Cyberman who served as a member of a scouting party alongside another Cyberman. After a time storm destroyed their ship, the two were separated and Kreel was sent to 19th century Edinburgh.
Biography
Kreel was a CyberMondan, who along with an unidentified Cyberman, were sent from Mondas to find other planets with lifeforms compatible for Cyber-conversion. They failed to find any such worlds before a time storm ravaged their Cyber-ship, causing them to be separated. (AUDIO: Way of the Burryman) While Kreel's partner was sent to 1925 Berlin (AUDIO: Monsters in Metropolis), Kreel ended up in Edinburgh during the late 19th century. Driven insane and desiring a "family", Kreel proceeded to convert deceased workers who were building a bridge over the River Forth into a new generation of Cybermen, who remained in hibernation within the bridge. Over a century later, Kreel was awoken in the 2000s when the Ninth Doctor accidentally purged the new army, the Forth Generation, of their original memories. (AUDIO: Way of the Burryman)
These Cybermen, created with the same materials as the bridge, then proceeded to convert Fiona McCall and other humans within the area on their leader's orders. However, while initially loyal, Kreel's Cybermen were susceptible to questioning the logic of their orders and would turn on their progenitor before ultimately being defeated by the Doctor. (AUDIO: The Forth Generation)
