When Doctor Who first began there were no over all story titles for the individual stories, each episode was given an individual story title (much like the new series).
However, when attributing over all story titles to the stories there are some disputes.
Some of the early 60s stories are known by their first episode, while others are known by an overall title.
Disputed Stories
An Unearthly Child
An Unearthly Child is the title of the first episode of the first set of episodes which are: An Unearthly Child, The Cave of Skulls, The Forrest of Fear and The Firemaker.
The story is also sometimes known as 100,000 BC.
When this story has been released on Video and DVD it has been released as An Unearthly Child.
The Daleks
The second story of the first season is commonly known as The Daleks and comprises the following episodes: The Dead Planet, The Survivors, The Escape, The Ambush, The Expeditiion, The Ordeal, The Rescue.
