The Bayeux Tapestry was an embroidered cloth depicting events England's history. The Fourth Doctor described a book on Swampie history as "a sort of Bayeux Tapestry with footnotes". (TV: The Power of Kroll) Charley Pollard once told the Eighth Doctor that she knew the Bayeux Tapestry depicted the Norman conquest.
