The Ritz Theatre was a cinema located on Totter's Lane in Shoreditch, London. In 1963, the First Doctor and Susan Foreman visited the cinema to watch a film about the fall of Rome. After the Doctor rudely and repeatedly pointed out inaccuracies within the film, Mrs. Smith, an usherette, told them both to leave, with the duo walking away together in the direction of a junkyard. By 2003, building developments began on Totter's lane, with the Ritz Theatre being demolished and turned into flats. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?) Other parts of the street became primarily office blocks (AUDIO: The Harvest) and luxury apartments. (AUDIO: Bessie Come Home)
In early 2005, an 81-year-old Mrs. Smith wrote about her encounter with the Doctor on the conspiracy website Doctor Who?. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?)
