HMS Beagle. (AUDIO: Bloodtide)
HMS Beagle

The HMS Beagle was a 19th century Royal Navy vessel. (AUDIO: Bloodtide)

By 1833, Charles Darwin was aboard the Beagle. (AUDIO: Gallery of Ghouls)

The Sixth Doctor took Evelyn Smythe to the Galápagos Islands on 19 September 1835 to meet Darwin, one of Evelyn's heroes, shortly after the Beagle had arrived. They found a group of revived Silurians who planned to destroy humanity. Their leader, Tulok, sent a Myrka to destroy the Beagle, but Greta Rodrigues sacrificed herself to stop it. After the Silurians' plan had been prevented, Darwin returned to the Beagle to complete his historic voyage. (AUDIO: Bloodtide)

The BEAGLE programme was named after the ship. (HOMEVID: Unnatural Selection)
