Commander Jane Wardie was a member of the army in a research base under an abbey. She told Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart about the ghosts and the metallic voices. She didn't want things to stop her research. (AUDIO: Way of the Burryman) (AUDIO: The Forth Generation) She ordered the lockdown of the base after the Cybermen started to attack. She then took the submarine deep into the Forth to hide it from the Cybermen. She was killed by the Cybermen after they invaded the submarine. (AUDIO: The Forth Generation)
