The Firstborn was the sixth and final story in the audio anthology The Quin Dilemma, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Jacqueline Rayner and featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Nicola Bryant as Peri Brown, Philip Labey as Herbert G. Wells, Lisa Greenwood as Flip Roman, Miranda Raison as Constance Clarke, Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush and Jonnie Broadbent as Alonza, Byron, Clarent, Dellan and Urvis.

This story and the rest of the anthology marked the 40th anniversary of Baker's debut as the Sixth Doctor.
