The Nemertines was a Fifth Doctor short story in the 1984 Doctor Who Annual. It may be most significant for being the third adventure pairing the Brigadier with Turlough and Tegan in the wake of TV: Mawdryn Undead and The Five Doctors. It was also the first time the Brigadier had featured in a Doctor Who Annual since the 1975 edition.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The Brigadier is in charge of UNIT, and so it would appear he has been called out of retirement to help deal with this particular threat.
- This story was read by Jon Culshaw in The Sinister Sponge & Other Stories.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- As the Brigadier is depicted in the illustrations with a moustache rather than being clean-shaven, as his 1983 self was in Mawdryn Undead, this story would appear to take place at some unspecified point after The Five Doctors — even though Tegan is clearly shown to be sporting her hairstyle and outfit from Arc of Infinity to Enlightenment.
