Kan-Chow was an ancient city in Cathay, near Su-Chow. It was located near the of the beginning of the western side of the Great Wall of Cathay. Behind the scenes
- The journey through Kan-Chow was only mentioned in Marco Polo's narration. As such, Kan-Chow is never actually seen in the serial itself. In the novelisation it played a more vital part, with the events which originally occurred in Sinju now taking place in Kan-Chow in the chapter "Too Many Kan-Chow Cooks".
- Kan-Chow (modern spelling Ganzhou) is now known as Zhangye in the real world.
