Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The journey through Kan-Chow was only mentioned in Marco Polo's narration. As such, Kan-Chow is never actually seen in the serial itself. In the novelisation it played a more vital part, with the events which originally occurred in Sinju now taking place in Kan-Chow in the chapter "Too Many Kan-Chow Cooks".
- Kan-Chow (modern spelling Ganzhou) is now known as Zhangye in the real world.
