Somehow Klikbrain remained active, and after some months, it managed to find its way off of Dispater by adapting the power core of a crashed Dendrellian Star Treader. Consumed with anger at Mercurius for leaving it alone, it plotted revenge, gathering a considerable amount of weaponry as well as other implements such as acid. It made its way to [[Paradise (planet)|Paradise]], where it practiced the tortures it intended to inflict on its creator by dismantling people, becoming known as the Mechanic. Klikbrain was a robot.

Abslom Daak went to Dispater to recruit Mercurius to fight the Daleks. They were invading the planet when Daak arrived, which helped convince Mercurius to depart on the Kill-Wagon.
