- The Seneschal's Daughter was a book written by the Draconian Rajeth Kartar.
- Guthrie was a former President of Earth preceding Fiona Dickens.
- It took Joel Mintz and M'Kabel weeks to trace some Las'par seedlings, the last of Harll's children, to a remote mountainside in Ross-shire.
- Ithva's smile reminded Jason of Khandi, a Draconian lady he had known at the NuBar in Spaceport Kuma.
- "Rhamnusia" was a conditioning code word that could be used against the Project Narcissus Mim to return them to their original form.
- Zhakaroth the Bereaved was a Draconian culture-hero.

- Bernice confided in her father that her desperation for a child was heightened by her belief that the Quire were her descendants, as she had worked out that their family name Fallowsolstice translated to Summerfield, and that they couldn't be descended from her son Peter as they were not part-Killoran.
