: "Standing" and "stand" are nouns, certainly, but I'm not sure either of them is synonymous with the verb "to stand". You can speak about someone's ''standing''; you can talk about ''taking a moral stand''. Both of those are nouns. But a page based on an instance of the latter probably wouldn't justify listing instances of the verb where someone "stands up" from a sitting position, nor indeed "stands for Parliament" or refuses to "stand for this". It's not the same meaning, even if they're all related.
