Professor Tapshorn was an expert in biology. He was part of Romolo Nusek's expedition to Stanturus Three.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Tapshorn took part in Romolo Nusek's excavation on Stanturus Three as the biology expert and insisted on wearing a battered pith helmet. He planned to write a paper on the steggodons, which he took great interest in, and tried to work out why they were agitated by Mastrov and Nicholas Clyde, both of whom were capable of murder.

Tapshorn was with Bernice Summerfield when Clyde caused an explosion which killed a number of archaeologists and destroyed a ruin left by Hugo Gamaliel's people. At the Stanturan Inquiry, he gave evidence of the expedition's organisation and went into unnecessary detail about the steggodons and their habits. Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]

Tapshorn was a short and stout man with thinning dark hair. On Stanturus Three, he wore a battered pith helmet which hid his eyes. (PROSE: Dragons' Wrath [+]Loading...["Dragons' Wrath (novel)"])

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

Tapshorn had a habit of pulling on his ear when he was excited, which made Bernice Summerfield think of a petrol pump. He had a speech impediment and could not pronounce the letter R, something he seemed to accept as a challenge. Consequently, he regularly used words beginning with the letter.
